The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.
Mission Statement:
Project Engineering focuses on designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for completing an engineering-based project including: Preparing designs, project controls and specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing and/or commissioning of new infrastructure, facilities, equipment, etc. Monitoring progress and performance against the project plan; taking action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifying, developing, and gathering the resources necessary to complete the project. May include preparing engineering standards, designs and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors An Entry Professional (P1) applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education. May require the following proficiency: Work is closely supervised. Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex. Explains facts, policies and practices related to job area.
Your Responsibilities:
Design of steel structure drawing in line with the GIS requirement and customer specification.
Obtain relevant technical details about various type of GIS from storage systems such as PDM, SAP etc and designs steel structure.
Prepare project specific civil plan for customer providing GIS loading for design of customer building floor, ceiling cranes etc., Influence of environmental conditions on GIS structure designs etc.)
Prepare painting specifications.
Support sales / Tender team by providing technical specifications of GIS support structures.
Delivery of designs on time on quality.

Your Background:
Bachelor degree / 3 years Diploma in electrical engineering with 5 -7 years of experience.
Steel structure modelling and detailing using Tekla & AutoCAD
Use of SAP for engineering interface with SCM
Costing of steel structure
Hand on experience in tools like Tekla, RAMS connection, AUTOCAD, MS Office,
Knowledge of painting procedures
Knowledge of relevant international standards such as IEC / ANSI
Knowledge of high voltage GIS products
Seismic zones and its impact in structure design.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
