Reporting to the Common Shared Services (CSS) Front Office Manager, you will be responsible for providing support to the management of the CSS FO Canada organization driving Hitachi Energy’s vision of a world class Accounting Center.
In this role you will be acting as a key support to Hitachi Energy by demonstrating leadership, and ensuring open and transparent communication among the key stakeholders (e.g. Controllers, Management, Group, etc.).
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Work on the Reiwa General Accounting Implementation (testing, validation and implementation of new S4HANA system).
Manage assigned internal controls.
Enforcing Hitachi Group Accounting Standards, compliance with Hitachi’s Accounting and Reporting Guidelines, IFRS and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting and Accounting.
General Accounting responsibilities and tasks.
Update business leaders on key metrics and action plans that impact financials and the day-to-day accounting operation.
Analyze and reconcile accounts, prepare and process adjusting/correcting journal entries, verify and approve journal entries.
Lead the month-end huddles and participates in month end close process.
Act as a liaison with internal and external auditors.
Commit to customer focus and customer satisfaction to ensure business partners are provided the service levels agreed.
Drive harmonization and standardization in Canada in line with Group solutions and best practices. Actively work towards the goal of harmonized and standardized processes throughout the Group.
Drive cross-functional accounting projects seeking standardization and centralization of accounting activities seeking process efficiency, mitigation of risks and cost control.
Support and participate in safety, compliance, business ethics, Group Charter, communications, and other related activities.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or Finance and Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Experience with management of internal and external auditors.
Knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting and internal control procedures.
Knowledge of IFRS.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and French).
CPA, or similar credential.
Experience of Team lead or Chief accountant.
Large, global company experience.
Experience within Shared Service environment.
SAP experience as end user.
Proven experience with cross functional projects.
