Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated IT Service Desk Engineer (Level 1 / 2) who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Eagle Farm, Brisbane, Australia.

About the Position

The IT Service Desk Engineer (Level 1 / 2) will join the Brisbane based team to provide onsite 1st and 2nd level IT support to a broad range of users. You will be required to manage incidents and requests efficiently and professionally with view to resolving outstanding tickets in a timely way to minimise disruption to project delivery.

This position will be offered on a 12-month max term contract basis and will require on-site attendance 5 days a week.


  • Desktop, server, and application support in a Microsoft environment

  • Systems administration and configuration: servers, networking & other IT equipment.

  • Efficiently diagnosing and resolving technical issues.

  • Working collaboratively with the wider APAC IT support team.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office.

  • Broad knowledge of Windows Server and networking.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Well organised and able to multi-task.

  • Resourceful, flexible, and self-motivated.

  • ITIL certification.

  • Tertiary qualification in IT.
