Description
In our R&D Power Conversion department in Turgi, Switzerland, we are currently looking for an experienced and motivated leader for our systems and control team of up to 15 highly skilled specialists. Do you have a passion for enabling a team to shape the power electronics technology of the future? Do you find your motivation from empowering and developing people to be on the top of their game? Do you have an interest in medium voltage high-power grid-connected power converter applications, such as Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOMs), railway and grid interties as well as variable-speed pumped energy storage plants? If so, you might be our next R&D Team Manager. In this role you will act in a global R&D organization, where your strong technical, collaboration and communication skills will come to hand.

Your responsibilities
Leading a high performance group of up to 15 engineers with wide know-how in the area of grid-connected power converter system, control software and FPGA development.
Support the development teams with technical expertise and leadership skills
Evolve competence and expertise required by the team to support the development of future products and systems
Foster a climate of innovation by motivating, coaching and empowering team members
Identify new technologies and tools as well as establish processes to increase quality and productivity
Drive an effective collaboration between R&D and engineering teams in a global environment.
Your background
Diploma/Master/PhD in electrical engineering or related discipline
Solid technical background in power electronics systems and their control
Experience in real time software development is considered a plus
Proven track record in driving change in development practices
Experienced in international and cross-cultural collaboration and leadership, ideally combined with line management experience in R&D or other technical environments
Solid background in project management, experience in lean and agile development methods is an advantage.
Fluent in English, preferably supplemented by German language skills.
