In our R&D department in Turgi, we are currently looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to join our team of R&D specialists. Are you interested in developing control software for medium voltage high-power grid-connected converter applications, such as Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOMs), railway and grid interties as well as variable-speed pumped energy storage plants? Your Responsibilities
Contribute to R&D projects from the initial concept stage to final product rollout
Analyze power converter systems and develop system simulations to and assess control and protection concepts
Develop real-time control software architecture concepts and tools, with focus on slow (open-loop) control and customer station layer connectivity
Specify, program and test real-time control and protection software on real-time simulators
Support customer project tendering and execution activities
Support lab testing as well as on-site installations at a domestic and international level
Your background
Diploma/Master/PhD in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Power Electronics and Control
Industrial experience with Power Converters and their Control Software is an advantage
Experience in communication protocols, such as IEC61850, OPC-UA, IEC60870-5-104 and DNP3, as well as Micro Scada environment
Experience with Hitachi Energy’s MACH control platform and HiDraw programming environment would be an advantage
Experience with test automation and python programming would be an advantage
Proficiency in the use of simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink
Team spirit with the capacity to work independently, complemented by a quick intellect and well-developed analytical skills
Fluent command of English, both written and spoken, preferably supplemented by German language skills
