Quantity Surveyor & Site Administrator

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Quantity Surveyor & Site Administrator who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Genoa, Italy.

Mission

Ensure to Construction Manager, that the activities related to the work progress and Invoicing and support the Project Management and the commercial team in the identification and development of contractual claims and variations. In addition, ensure to CM the management of the indirect cost (e.g. cars, site office, utilities, etc.) and administration activities for the control and coordination of resources on the project

Accountabilities

• Ensure the monthly statement issuing, with the Project Manger, according to the project planning
• Act jointly with the Project Manager in order to achieve the approval of the PPC by the client.
• Ensure the compliance of the Progress Payment certificate (PPC with the contractual scheme
• Act jointly with Administrative dept in order to process the invoices (being previously approved according to the STS procedures)
• Ensure the compliance of the Invoice with the contractual requirements
• Act with the CM during the preparation of claims and variations, giving in return the economical evaluation of the related activities (priced BOM)
• Ensure the archiving of the above mentioned documents
• Ensure the PPC fulfillment and the related client approval, according to the project Planning
• Ensure the compliance to the invoicing project budget
• Support the CM into the archiving of the technical and administrative project documentation
• Ensure the Entry Sheet issuing for the indirect costs (e.g. cars, site
  office, utilities, etc).
• Ensure the interfacing with AFC (Control and Finance Function) to check that the payments related to the indirect costs above mentioned, are finalized on time
• Support the CM and Functional Manager to ensure the administration of the register and forms for IT tools, Cars, apartments / residence, etc
• Support the CM and the Functional Manger, acting as collector to archive the HSE documentation

Required Skills and Knowledge

• From 3 up to 5 years of expertise
• Employed in projects related to civil and/or tech works
• Utilization of tools and drawings
• Knowledge of software tools
• Collaboration and International Development
• Excellence in Achieving Assigned Objectives
• Business Awareness

Education/Qualification

High school degree with specialization in surveying and/or Engineering University degree or Equivalent Technical background.

Languages
Fluent in English.
