Hitachi Energy is hiring a Project Manager to manage the repair projects of large power transformers. In this role, you will report to the Technical and Operations Manager. Transformer factory repairs contribute to improved power grid reliability, electrical power expansion to meet carbon emission reduction targets and overall sustainability due to the high reuse of materials in factory repairs.
The Project Manager is accountable for the overall project execution and customer communication.
Manage multiple large power transformer factory repair projects for Canada and US customers
Project values can be up to $5 MCAD each
Key focus is on driving/achieving Project Schedule, Financial Budget, Scope and Quality Targets
Utilize cross-functional team (engineering, production shop, purchasing, quality, sales)
Manage customer interface, from PO handover through engineering design, production and validation to final product delivery
Create detailed project schedules, resource plans, procurement plans, documentation plans, risk assessments and risk mitigation plans to assure smooth project execution and process compliance
Promote operational excellence, accountability and customer focus
Oversee engineering deliverables (product technical drawings, prototypes), materials procurement, production activities, testing activities, delivery and installation
Identify additional revenue opportunities arising from the project delivery and client contact
Monitor, update and control project cost and cash flow
Participate in monthly project reviews
Promotes high integrity, Hitachi Energy ethics and commitment to safety
Based in Stoney Creek Transformer Factory Repair Shop
Strong organizational and management skills
PMP certification preferred
