Field Service Engineer

Description

You as a Field service Engineer will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will be responsible to encompasses the performance of aftermarket services and support for the installed base, as well as High Voltage Products (GIS, LTB, AIS, GCB & Power Quality) maintenance services to our utility, contractor for UAE. This would involve performing preventative maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and warranty repairs on High Voltage Products, as well as performing commissioning activities and the development and implementation of proactive services responsive to customer requirements. The position also includes the coordination of investigations of customer-reported issues and assisting to achieve equitable solutions for our customers.

Your responsibilities

• Strong knowledge in High Voltage Products Services & Service portfolios and carrying out installation & commissioning and maintenance services independently.
• Providing on-site or remote technical support for installation and commissioning of mainly GIS and LTB, AIS & Power Quality Solutions, and routine maintenance services, identifies technical problems and makes analysis through remote or on-site activity in different Service categories.
• Ensuring that the necessary accident prevention measures are observed; specifically, he abides by the guidelines for work on live system components and supervising the adherence to the safety and industry acceptable practice.
• Creating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs, and providing specialist support and solutions and recommendation to customer for immediate and future service requirements, provide feedback to Service Sales team.
• Acting as representative of the OEM during interaction with the customer and preparing the tools, equipment and parts needed for a service job and understand the scope of the job to be performed and ensuring that the documentation for the job is available and briefing with service manager, head of department or supervisor about the expected situation on site.
• Creating service reports, time sheets & delivery note, duly signed by customer and acting as voice of customer back into internal engineering and quality functions.
• Supporting service and delivery of site activities for High Voltage Products / Equipment’s maintenance works and effectively manages multifunctional interfaces - internal, feeder factories, service department, customers, and sub suppliers.
• Abilities to show personal leadership & maintain a teamwork environment to deliver assignments. Strong self-disciplined approach to ensure quality and accuracy of delivery and updating installed base in IB Analyzer (the approved service database) with the changes made at site.
• Establish long-term customer relationships by understanding customer requirements and applicable regulations, respond immediately to issues and demonstrate in-depth technical service product/solutions knowledge to promote product Life Cycle Management
• Responsible for adherence to the quality assurance requirements on the Power Plant / Substation / Oil & Gas / Process Industries site and seeks to improve these continually.
• Able to work across various domestic and international time zones when required.

Your background           

• A bachelor’s or diploma in electrical field is required.
• Minimum 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in in High Voltage Products and equipment’s (GIS, LTB, AIS), Power Quality Products (PQPS) installation testing and commissioning, repair, and maintenance, monitoring and measuring devices, maintenance work of High Voltage Products and Equipment’s, PQPS used in industries or utilities companies.
• Experience in sub transmission GIS installation and commissioning including substation services and preventive maintenance activities and PQPS Installation & Commissioning services is added value.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
