General Information:

Responsible for looking after the whole ITO (Inquiry to Order) process of Capacitors and Filters; Disconnect Switches and / or Surge Arresters from a supply point of view: from the activation of the related quotation (from a SFDC opportunity generated by the Demand)/ bid and proposal/tendering stage to price setting with the objective of speeding up the decision-making process and price decisions. This role is also instrumental for cross-factory bid and/or cross-hub tenders’ coordination.

Responsible for coordinating load between Area Sales Managers/Application Engineers, and INOPC Resources to deliver fully technically and commercially viable offers to the customers on time. This could include updating tools, identifying special circumstances, deciding NO Bids and approving Bid reviews.

The Tendering manager is accountable and instrumental to coordinate and update the price list, helping to manage and communicate the margin expectation to the team.

The Tendering manager is responsible to proactively lead, train and coach the Tendering team in the US and overseas.

This role reports directly Market and Sales Manager of Power and Industry Components.


  • Development, implementation and optimization of the Business line tendering and INOPC tendering resources.

  • Tendering workload management including ASM/AE tenders and INOPC load.

  • Submission of complete technical, commercial and financial offers that comply with Hitachi guidelines and customer needs. This includes coordination with the Area Sales Managers.

  • Preparation and maintenance of pricing strategy, price lists, price configurators and coordination of blanket price updates to have cost tracking and tracking of pricing and cost updates.  This includes maintaining software & configurator tools and working with IT support.

  • Collaborate on the tracking of Cost of Poor Quality of quotes and Quotation Quality issues.

  • Managing and leading the Risk Review processes filling the database and elevating the needs to achieve the approval of strategic bids.

  • Composing and maintaining standard operating procedures for quotation process and updating as part of continuous process improvement, and communicating updates to the team

  • Responsible to support appropriate Sales & Operations Planning meetings to maximize factory load and profitability. 

  • Oversight of Factory Margins and Pricing profitability in pricing tools.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar.

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • 5 – 10 years of experience in Marketing and Sales, B2B, Energy Sector or similar.

  • Product Marketing and Sales skills and experience. Desirable also some experience in operations and manufacturing.

  • Strongly focused over structured work and organization.

  • Strongly focused over KPI’s and Continuous improvement.

  • Supervision and coordination experience desired.

  • Intercultural Sensitivity.

  • Fluent in English, capable of communicating with customers in a comfortable way and with diplomatic approach.
