The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Mission Statement:

Engineering Sales is focused on providing technical advice and support to sales teams and conducting technical analysis of product configurations to determine customer specific pricing including Preparing and conducting technical sales briefings for customer and company representatives. Researching customer technical specifications and estimating the costs, resources, time, and technical requirements of modifying, configuring, and installing the product or solution. Evaluating sales proposals to ensure they are technically accurate and consistent with the organization’s quality standards. May resolve/troubleshoot implementation problems and conduct initial user training An Experienced Professional (P2) applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. May require the following proficiency: Works independently with general supervision. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of engineering documentation including Protection Block diagram, Interlock Drawings & Interface drawings, generating bill of materials & IED order code preparation, Signal I/O schedules, Schematics drawing for all types of protection (Feeders, transformers, Busbars, Reactors, Capacitors).

  • Preparation of Functional design documents: Technical specification, General Arrangements drawing, Product selection, Scada Overview drawings.

  • Preparation of Manufacturing Documentation: Apparatus List, wiring reports, Label list, Detailed assembly documents, Difference list for revised documents for Manufacturing Control and Production cabinets, CT, VT, Marshalling boxes e.t.c.

  • Preparation of Cable Documents: Should Prepare Pre cable list and Cable schedule for Control room Equipment’s, Yard Equipment’s, Fiber optic cables and all site cable coordination cables.

  • Work with project team to fully develop Plant circuit diagram with complete integration and coordination of HV, AC/DC Systems, Networking with control and protection.

  • Should able to identify the customer requirements by understanding specifications, Tender proposals and conduct review meeting with your superiors and document the list of available and pending inputs with highlighting the risks involved.

  • Develop the plant circuit diagram with support of suitable design tools and send for validation to customers and prepare a plan for comments follow up and approval.

Your Background:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in relay protection and control design of high voltage (11 - 765 kV) substations including:
  • Knowledge of protection principles and practices for transmission lines,distribution feeders, and major substation equipment
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals, including understanding of three phase power systems
  • Knowledge of design documents and drawings necessary to complete a substation protection and control design project.
  • Basic Knowledge on RTU Equipment’s and their functioning and Basic Knowledge on Micro Scada, GPS devices and their functioning and various types of protocols and latest trends in market
