Description
Hitachi Energy Transformers is seeking for you as PLM Solution Architect.
In this role, you will serve as a senior, specialized expert in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes and systems to understand requirements/business value for the global Hitachi Energy Transformers business unit, maturing a common platform for leading our customers toward best PLM practices regarding engineering product data management, product configuration management, and automated CAD design.
Your Responsibilities
Collaborate with users in projects and problem management to scope, align with business processes, and deploy the best feasible and most cost efficient IS solutions/services for the business
Define the IS solution and ensure alignment with other modules, business processes, and surrounding IS applications through cooperation and collaboration across IS technical solution architects and IS delivery units
Engage in requirement engineering to decide which requirements are covered by available standard functionalities, for which functionalities enhancements are needed and for which functionalities workarounds are accepted
Provide project management and lead IS delivery unit team in how to utilize IS application/solution standards (PLM practices and systems) effectively
Communicate project delivery related demand towards project and service management in collaboration with Global IS Domain Architect to ensure resolution and avoid delivery issues
Consult the users to identify and learn about current procedures and to clarify further requirements and support the installation, management, maintenance, and optimization of all IS processes related to the area of responsibility
Provide strong, assertive project leadership for new factory deployments and process transformation surrounding PLM practices in our global locations
Lead transformation of factory order-fulfillment and Engineering change management processes, interacting with local engineering and other functional teams to put PLM best-practices in place, replacing or upgrading older approaches
Guide the combined teams to PLM best practices in your projects, explaining the options and moderating cross-functional teams toward the best solutions
Serve as a key, business-unit expert, working closely with Architectures, and leaders in other domains to align PLM with Digital Thread best practices
Helpful in this role is understanding and adapting to specific opportunities and history in the global Transformer business, with a range of business models (CTO, ETO, MTO, etc), and adapting our PLM approach to best fit our history and product approach
Your Background
At least eight years of experience as a project manager/solution architect in the PLM domain, preferably for the engineering/manufacturing industry, working inside a leading, major global company.
In depth understanding of Windchill, Teamcenter or similar leading PLM systems required
At least 5 years specialized experience hands-on leading role in a global PLM effort, including detailed experience in guiding the organization to best practices for usage, and understanding of the range of tool capabilities typical with PLM products to back it up
Strong understanding of relationship between PLM and related upstream and downstream processes, especially including how modern product configurators transform customer needs into downstream PLM Bills of Material (EBOM, MBOM, etc.)
Substantial comfort and experience interacting at mid-senior level with factory management and leaders in the engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, purchasing, and sales processes
Deep experience in complex interaction of above functional areas across the value chain, and in optimizing such processes using concepts form Lean and 6 Sigma
Understanding of industry concepts of cross-value-chain configuration/BOM management and their relationship with the Digital Thread to drive business value
Experience in automated CAD design products, especially Sigmaxim with Creo, and similar is a strong advantage
Willing to travel to target factories when needed for 1-2 weeks at a time, though most work will be done with the global team remotely
Proficient in PLM domain-specific skills, problem solving, analytical thinking, stakeholder management.
Highly proactive and results-driven attitude, ability to take ownership of projects
Experience and ability to work with virtual delivery teams as well as distributed stakeholders in multinational companies
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate fluently in English in a global multi-cultural diverse environment as a must
