We are hiring the Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability (HSE) Specialist for our eMobility team. In this role you will work both operationally in the production and strategically with key initiatives to improve the HSE and environmental culture within the unit.

Your responsibilities

  • Under the Business Unit HSE guidance, supports and cooperates with other functions and business partners in driving excellent HSE performance and implementing the Hitachi Energy HSE operating system.

  • Coach, support and provide advice to managers and production employees on Health, Safety and Sustainability matters. Implement safety and sustainability objectives and targets.

  • Develop, implement, and administer environmental programs to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, standards, and policies.

  • Develop, implement, and support practices to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace (potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions).

  • Support the effective implementation, continual improvement, and certification of ISO standards as well as taking an active part in improvement programs and practices to ensure an exemplary HSE-culture.

  • Plan and carry out safety audits, investigate accidents and root causes and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities work to prevent their recurrence.

  • Assist in the HSE risk management process in the unit with plant managers and production employees to support that all processes, equipment, and tools used in production meet relevant safety standards.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with the community, environmental groups, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.

  • Inspecting workplace and environmental incidents in accordance with company procedures and implementing corrective actions;

  • Ensure that safety aspects are fully taken care in the development of products and solutions led by R&D, including supporting FMEA analysis and any other processes deemed appropriate.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree and eight years professional HSE experience preferably from a similar industry.

  • It is an advantage if you have prior experience working with environmental or sustainability tasks.

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and Environment legislative requirements, better if related to local laws and regulations.

  • You have good communication and influencing skills to address and build trust within the organization.

  • Fluency in Italian and English is required, both written and spoken.

  • You have a pro-active mindset to self-initiate actions and take decisions.

  • Ability to travel an average of 30% of the time.
