For our research center in North America, we are looking for a Research Team Manager to lead the Power Systems team located in Raleigh NC, United States. Your team will focus on multidisciplinary research in the areas of Power system, digitalization, and power electronics.

Your Responsibilities

  • Line management for a multidisciplinary research team
  • Coach team members to support their professional development
  • Ensure professional execution of R&D projects and quality of results
  • Recruit and onboard new employees to the team
  • Foster the creation of new R&D project proposals and strategic research initiatives
  • Maintain and extend an excellent network to relevant business units and leading universities
  • Drive a culture of innovation and foster the creation of high value research
  • Contributing to technical work in research projects and pre-studies

Your Background:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Previous experience and proven track record in industrial R&D
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage expectations and complex interdependencies
  • Team-oriented and innovative personality as well as solution-oriented working style
  • Technical expertise in power systems
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral.
