General Summary: 

The purpose of this position is to develop and maintain the individual, internally developed plant production and business systems.  Participates in a team responsible for the design, implementation, and deployment of plant and business systems. This is a hands-on role working collaboratively with development and operations to enable quick builds in parallel projects including working with stakeholders to build project scope and deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintenance of Plant Production Systems
  • Create and Report on Project Status, Deadlines and Constraints. (Both management and customer)
  • Maintenance of KNA and Plant Production Systems Software Code Base.
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Support Plant Floor Systems when applicable
  • Provide Application Support, including on-call situations for Corporate Applications
  • Work within small team to develop new manufacturing location and new processes to support smooth mass production start-up of EV products.
  • Facilitate installation of Astemo ERP system, MES and other IT systems.
  • Typical NPI duties as detailed by internal Astemo and customer requirements for start-up of new product/location

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to make sound business decisions, exercise good judgment, and be highly motivated.
  • Excellent debugging skills, able to debug complex technical issues involving multiple systems.
  • Excellent understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and related tools.
  • Ability to write and execute database queries and create database objects (Stored Procedures, Tables, Triggers)
  • Intermediate understanding of computer hardware.
  • Ability to work solo or in a team environment on multiple parts of a project.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with customers, vendors, and external stakeholders to exchange information, understand requirements, and solve problems related to assigned projects, within guidelines as requested.
  • Advance ability to design, code and test new Windows and Web software applications.
  • Create technical specification and test plans.
  • Create new and extend existing operational documentation.
  • Consult colleagues concerning maintenance and performance of software systems.
  • Ability to use the following software or programing languages: Visual Studio, .NET Framework, .NET Core C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Oracle Database, SQL Server Database, SQL Query and Stored Procedures, Azure DevOps or Git, Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint, PTC Kepware, Telit Devicewise, Inductive Automation Ignition, Leading2Lean

Education: Bachelor’s degree, applicable certificates, or equivalent IT experience.

Experience:

6+ years in Web and Desktop Development with .NET Framework, .NET Core, C#, VB

Relational Database Experience – Oracle or SQL Server Preferred

Proven track record of designing scalable, distributed software applications.

Object-oriented design experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Project Management Experience

Business process in lean manufacturing experience

MES, SCADA and traceability systems development

Working experience with SAP or other ERP Systems

Strong understanding of IT Security and IT Business Risk Controls

Physical Demands:

Team members may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-and dust. Team Member may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.). Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions. Effectively communicate in Business English language. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, etc.), as required by job duties.

Travel: Domestic and international maybe required as needed.
