General Information:

Manage proposal activities for large power transformers offers for utilities and EPCs in Canada and USA. Review customer specifications, terms and conditions, and other requirements, coordinate the assessment of costs, and prepare quotations for each opportunity. Follow-up on sales opportunities, coordinate the responses to customer questions at the proposal state, obtain feedback on the proposal, and identify key actions required to drive orders.


Proposal coordination and support

  • Review opportunity in Sales Force database.

  • Review quotation documents and identify any issues that require follow-up with sales.

  • Set schedule and milestones for proposal. If schedule is not feasible then request extension.

  • Create product item in an internal database and provide link to proposal engineering. and include all technical documents that are part of the request for quotation.

  • Provide T&C's to legal counsel for their approval and/or comments.

Pricing and Quotation

  • Provide details on of design and delivery address to transport service providers and obtain offers.

  • Develop final pricing and packaging of all costs and data.

  • Prepare full cost model and obtain approvals per the table of authority.

  • Prepare and coordinate risk reviews with internal stakeholders.

  • Request and/or obtain credit checks, bid bonds, insurance certificates, quality questionnaires.

  • Prepare proposal using standard templates and integrate customer fill-in data and internal standard quotation documents.

  • Complete the required checklists per the approved Proposal Management procedure.

  • Follow-up with sales representative to obtain feedback and amend offers as needed.

  • Respond to customer questions in collaboration with sales representative.

  • Perform contract review and transfer to Project Manager.

Opportunity Pursuits and Tender Support:

  • Identify Must Win opportunities and coordinate with sales representative and Product Marketing Manager.

  • Communicate customer project requirements to Product Marketing Manager.

  • Identify commercial risks based on design and proposal.

  • Track and report opportunity status and support as necessary to close-out.


  • Requires the ability to manage a understand technical specifications.

  • Requires ability to manage relationships with sales, internal-stakeholders, and customer contacts.

  • Requires the ability to prepare and present technical presentations.

  • Requires time management skills and balancing of multiple priorities.

  • Requires the ability to work within a matrix organization and team leadership.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or related field plus greater than 5 years of experience. Alternatively, a combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.

  • Must be fluent in French and in English
