The Product Security Engineer is responsible for analyzing and evaluating security measures, developing solutions to address security volnurabilities and coordinating cybersecurity testing for our products in the task area Distribution Automation Solutions (Power Grids) as part of our international team (Poland and Germany). With these products we want to jointly drive the energy transition to make the world CO2 neutral, safe and more sustainable for future generations.

Your responsibilities:

  • Overall driver in the development of cybersecurity policies and procedures and ensure implementation is aligned with Hitachi Energy Cyber Security Strategy
  • Work collaboratively with the R&D team to ensure cybersecurity is integrated into the development process
  • Conduct cybersecurity research and analysis to identify potential security threats
  • Analyze and evaluate security measures and controls for our products
  • Develop solutions and rcommendations to address security volnurabilities
  • Alignment with product management and R&D project leaders to ensure security lifecycle planned within product development raodmaps
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in cybersecurity and product security
  • Ensure a timely and consistent process for handling of security vulnerabilities - including detection, assessment and correction

Your background:

  • BSc or MSc degree in IT, SW engineering, Telecommunication, Computer Science, Electronics or similar area
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, penetration testing and product security
  • Understanding of common vulnerabilities and exploits
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as Kali Linux, Metasploit and Nessus
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, application protocols concepts and experience with at least one programming language such as Python or C++
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
  • You communicate fluently in English (Polish and German are nice to have)
  • You have good communication and coordination skills
