Seize this opportunity as a Service Sales Specialist, you will be part of our Grid Automation Service Team. We provide Service Solutions for substation automation systems, control and protection, cyber security, communication, and related technology. The team is highly motivated and with strong customer and service-oriented approach. It is our ambition to provide high quality service, delivering solutions aligned with customers' needs.

You will have an engineering background and as a qualified engineer you will be able to communicate at all levels both internally and externally with customers. You will be able to discuss technical engineering solutions to a non- technical audience, so they understand the concepts and benefits of our service offerings. You will be viewed as a subject matter expert and represent Hitachi Energy to senior stakeholders using your influence and research skills and ability to identify new business opportunities for new and existing clients within your targeted portfolio.

The role

  • Face-to-face and/or remote sales to new or existing customers.
  • Availability to travel to reach customers with a focus in the areas of southern Italy and/or Hitachi Energy sites.
  • Assessing customer needs and suggesting appropriate products, services and/or solutions.
  • Influence tenders specifications and decisions that have major impact on the market share, and financial results.
  • Identify & drive growth areas (geographical/segment/channels), growth strategies, & market approach
  • Establish, build and maintain long-term customer relationships to increase market penetration and decrease Company risks
  • Planning, developing, and delivering the marketing strategy for products/services and associated brand(s).
  • Evaluating, measuring, and managing the product/brand P&L

(e.g., budgeting, expenditures, profitability, return-on-investment, etc.)

  • Able to provide customer service and support in the form of information on product/price and resolution to issues related to billing, shipping, delivery, complaints, etc.
  • Working in collaboration with the wider Hitachi team as well as independently.


  • An engineering background and experience of industrial/technical customer contact. Tendering background is a plus.
  • Experience ideally within the energy sector or similar.
  • Motivation and determination.
  • Used to working with personal goals/ comfortable working to sales targets.  
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English.
  • Following standard processes and procedures: updating records.
  • Customer oriented mindset and comfortable with budgets and cost calculations
