Summary:
Hitachi America, Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd. (Japan), is looking for a Treasury Analyst to support corporate treasury activities for a $4 billion group of US based companies. The Treasury Analyst will provide assistance to the Treasury group and act as backup to Treasury Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily administration of the cash management process which includes accounting/cash analysis, wire transfers, investment, lending activities, borrowings, interest expense and income. This will also include a cash forecasting plan with the assistance and approval from Treasury Assistant Manager.
Plan and organize daily/monthly activities of Treasury: Daily journal entries, assist in the monthly closing, Global netting and loan collection and reporting. To be completed by each deadline.
Plan and monitor the daily work and back log of-other Treasury staff. Assist in backlog and answer any system and technical questions when behind.
Daily recording of bank, commercial paper, SOFR rates and term contracts., be able to communicate current climate and market rate volatility.
Conduct wire payments to vendors in USD and other foreign currencies, help monitor balances and wire status.
Work as a bank liaison for the department and participating group companies in our cash management structure
Analyze the department’s procedures and protocols, present management with any plans to increase efficiency and or accuracy
Work as a liaison between divisions/subsidiaries and assists in operational needs. (i.e. payments/forecasts)
Maintain Treasury Wall Street System and SAP as it relates to daily banking transactions, coding and applications of general ledger activity.
Participate in treasury system projects, this will involve implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Using Bloomberg terminal to manage interest rate SWAPs reporting and analysis.
Balance Sheet and Income Statement Analysis.
Train any additional staff to perform back up functions for the Treasury Group.
Skills and Qualifications:
We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision. The role will be a mixture of remote-hybrid work with days in the Hitachi Office in Santa Clara, CA.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance is required.
3-5 years of experience working in a corporate treasury group or in corporate bank operations within a financial institution is required.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of SAP, Bloomberg and Wallstreet or Kyriba Treasury Software preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Must be detail oriented and well organized, time management is essential.

For California only (as required by California’s Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $75-80 K. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
