Your responsibilities :

  • You will develop the next generation capacitors focusing on the mechanical design.
  • 3D CAD modelliing of film capacitors and other PGHV products (CREO or Solidworks)
  • Work on Design for manufacturing (DFM), Design for assembly (DFA)
  • Design experimental set-ups and prototypes, conduct tests, and analyze test results, possibly including physical modelling. Lead and participate in FMEA (Failure mode and effects analysis)
  • Work with a global R&D team ensuring knowledge sharing, and timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Create ideas and proposals for new R&D projects. Close collaboration with our Power Grids Research organization and with academia.
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and other external partners. Document results in the form of technical reports, presentations, IP etc.

Your background :

  • Background in mechanical engineering and/or Mechanical design of film capacitors, PhD or MSc
  • Ideally 5 Years of working experience in the field of film capacitors, film metallization (product or process)
  • Solid understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly) and DFS (Design for Serviceability) principles.
  • Minimum 5 years 3D CAD modelling experience (SolidWorks or Creo)
  • Sound analytical skills and experience with planning, conducting and analysis of experiments.
  • Ability to also work in other technical areas, as for example: insulation systems, thermal management, Multiphysics integration.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience in, or ability to develop, project management and technical leadership skills.
  • Bonus if you also have working experience of design of HV capacitors and/or other HV devices with solid insulation.
