Accountabilities:

  • Coach and mentor team members to resolve issues related to product safety, manufacturing production processes, serve as a technical advisor to suppliers and actively participate in product development projects as a manufacturing representative.
  • Lead and/or assist other colleagues as a constructive team member to ensure the success of the task at hand.
  • Research, plan and implement manufacturing process improvements or new processes.
  • Maintenance of manufacturing processes, documentation, and compliance to ISO standard/s.
  • Relentless pursuit for continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and products.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Able to manage, organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Able to create written instructions, clearly and accurately, provide oral instructions.
  • All efforts will have a significant effect on quality, delivery, cost, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Budget, track and facilitate the successful completion of capital expenditure projects.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements related to manufacturing process and product design with emphasis on design for manufacturability.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience managing engineering professional in a manufacturing environment. Engineering experience, LEAN/Sigma continuous improvement methodology, recognition of value-add vs non-value add processes, identifying the 8 types of waste, grasp of 6S principles, experience with Industry 4.0
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • While the regular working cycle of this job is usually 5 days on (Monday - Friday) and 2 days off (Saturday and Sunday), working hours may vary depending on business needs.
  • May be required to work overtime as required (including Saturday and Sunday if needed)
  • May require travel out of state or out of country for brief periods up to 25%.
  • This job regularly requires a high degree of mental effort due to considerable interruptions and/or frequent changes of activity or workloads during a typical workday.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • three (3+) or more years’ experience with the following manufacturing processes: printed circuit board manufacturing and assembly, electromechanical assembly, casting, forging, machining, tooling, and fixture design
  • two or more years’ experience with Hitachi Rail STS products demonstrating knowledge of their operation and application or of competitor products
  • Strong collaborative mindset
  • Initiative and are a freethinker with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to step outside of your comfort zone to learn new skills.
  • The motivation to challenge yourself, others, and traditional ways of thinking via an informed vantage point.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Enthusiasm to build effective relationships, possess exceptional communication skills and are reliable and dependable
  • Accepts responsibility for not only successes but also failures. Learns from failures, applies corrective actions, and progresses in a positive manner.
  • Builds effective relationships and demonstrates effective communication skills.

Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Bachelor's in any other discipline with 4 years of job-related work experience.
