Description

The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. Planning and scheduling work to maintain the designed reliability of equipment. Job plans created by the Maintenance Planner are intended to ensure or extend the life expectancy of equipment therefore aiding in the total reduction of maintenance cost and increased output of product.    

Supervise a team of maintenance technician employees engaged in various maintenance activities related to distribution transformer manufacturing equipment.  Key duties are to schedule maintenance activities including labor allocation and day-to-day coordination.

  • Prepare preventative maintenance plans and schedules that are in sync with the organization’s maintenance goals.
  • Properly plan and schedule maintenance repairs of productive equipment
  • Directs, maintains and enforces the safety Company program for the maintenance department, reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians.
  • Ensure safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Trains, directs, develops and supervises employees.
  • Aids in identifying repetitive equipment failures and determining root causes.
  • Tracks analyses and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance.
  • Involved in managing inventory of critical parts, tools, and consumable resources essential to the operation of production equipment.
  • People leadership and development ensures that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed.
  • Understand organization’s KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and work to meet goals.
  • Resolve problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Use excellent people skills, coaching skills, management skills, and communication skills to accomplish daily deliverables.

REQUIRED

  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience – planning & supervisory 
  • Previous direct supervisory or similar leadership experience
  • Prior knowledge and/or experience advising high performance work groups and experience with implementation and monitoring of continuous improvement systems.
