Meet our Team

As Senior Director of Social Media Marketing, you'll lead a team of social media marketing professionals to develop and execute compelling marketing and advertising programs to target, reach and engage stakeholders to create demand. The position will report to the Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Global Communications.

The candidate will be an inspirational leader who will build strong business relationships with other executives and leaders across multiple internal teams including marketing strategy, strategic and executive communications, creative brand, PR, AR, customer advocacy, field marketing, revenue marketing and sales teams.

The candidate will have experience working with internal and external agencies and social media influencers and content creators.

What you'll be doing
  • Lead the development and execution of the overall global strategy for Hitachi Vantara social media advertising programs inclusive of a variety of global and regional social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube etc.).
  • Develop comprehensive and cohesive social media go-to-market plans to enhance brand awareness, protect and improve brand/customer and partner sentiment, drive customer engagement and product and services crave, and support key business priorities.
  • Manage the social media marketing team in creating high-impact, novel and engaging content for each social media campaign that aligns to Hitachi Vantara marketing objectives, company guidelines and business goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Hitachi Vantara leaders across Strategic and Executive Communications, Public Relations, Analyst Relations, Customer Advocacy, Creative Brand, Digital Marketing, Field Marketing and Sales on social media programs and initiatives including content development and creation, influencer marketing, and paid amplification.
  • Lead the Hitachi Vantara Social Media Marketing team various levels of experience and design a future state team based on the strategic marketing direction.
  • Track trends, research, and consumer insights to guide the development of social media campaigns and tactics.
  • Work with your team to track the implementation of programs; monitor and analyze social media and advertising campaign tactics to improve performance in real time and develop strategies to improve effectiveness of future programs.
  • Manage social media channels for business continuity and to maintain corporate reputation.
  • Engage as part of the Business Continuity team to conduct ongoing social listening monitoring to manage corporate reputation.
  • Maintain a cohesive social media strategy across various channels to achieve high levels of user engagement.


What you bring to the team
  • 12+ years of relevant professional marketing experience in Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, Advertising, or Marketing Strategy.
  • 5 years of executive experience managing a team of marketing professionals.
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms, best-practices in social media, and experience with leading compelling content creation, influencer marketing, organic and paid social media programs.
  • Proven proactive, strategic planning, collaborative, critical thinking, and creative leadership experience.
  • Ability to successfully build, coach, develop and inspire a team of direct reports to do their best work to achieve business goals through strategic direction.
  • Experience in providing daily guidance to a team on a high-volume, fast-paced portfolio of social media projects.
  • A track record of driving compelling social media and influencer campaigns, delivering creative excellence, creating buzz, and positively impacting brand sentiment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others, build strong and sustainable relationships, and interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong presentation skills with extensive experience in creating and presenting a clear and compelling narrative to influence key stakeholders including internal and external senior executive leaders.
  • Analytical experience in evaluating social media metrics and applying a data-centric approach to optimizing content.
  • An optimistic leader, with a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and a bias for action, who inspires people to do their best work.
  • MBA in Marketing, Business, Communications, or equivalent.


As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is:
  • Tier One Location (including New York City and California Bay Area): $200k -$260k.

The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara's bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
