Job Summary:

The Chief Signalling & TPWS Engineer will be responsible for design delivery to meet QCD targets and technical solution offered on the project. This position is nominated design authority by consortium towards customer. This role requires extensive experience in railway signalling and ATP system design and execution and should be able to provide technical leadership. The chief Signalling Design Engineer will lead entire design team and coordinate with commissioning manager, V&V manager and project management team. work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful design, implementation, and maintenance of signalling systems for the WDFC.

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and verify design of trackside and on-board in collaboration with respective product teams, obtain approval by customer. Application engineering for IXL and TPWS system, test specifications for on-site testing of on-board system and integration test with trackside.

  • Design delivery to confirm design process, quality and cost. Responsible for managing resources and meet the design budget. Resource allocation and design sub-contractor management.

  • Provide inputs to manufacturing units (factories) about local requirements of Indian application. Provide specifications and information to enable product development in line with customer requirements.

  • Collaborate with factory and design team to Resolve technical issues faced during implementation or during DNP.

  • Closely work with manufacturing units (factories) to acquire product knowledge and support project design & commissioning teams in implementation.

  • Responsible for application engineering of TPWS system, on-site testing of on-board system and integration test with trackside.

  • Ensure the identification, management and resolution of all the interfaces between the Signalling Sub-system and the Other Sub-systems (e.g. Rolling Stock, track detection, telecom etc.) as well as the internal interfaces within the Signalling Subsystem.

  • Ensure the definition of the Physical Architecture of the Signalling part and Integrate it within the Overall Physical Architecture of the overall System.

  • Ensure the delivery of the assigned tasks on time, on budget and quality.

  • Ensure efficiency and standardization of signaling systems across different projects (e.g.Design specifications).

  • Ensure the integration and technical outcome/output of the project (technical solution implementation, budget and schedule) ensuring the contractual requirements are met.

Other Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven Knowledge of IXL and ETCS. In depth knowledge of ETCS SRS and
    data preparation, on-site testing methodologies. Should be a team player and
    experienced to work in multi-cultural teams.

  • Application engineering for IXL and TPWS trackside, on-board dynamic testing.

Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering.


  • Minimum 15years+ experience in design of signaling system including ATP i.e TPWS/ETCS.

  • Minimum 3 years in ETCS application data design / on-board interface & testing.
