Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Associate Signalling RAMS Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Naples, Italy.

Accountabilities

  • Ensure the implementation and monitoring of the company safety management system for the Safety, V&V and testing at Wayside Subsystem level (IXL and/or RBC subsystems)
  • Ensure the definition of cost evaluation, planning and execution of RAMS activities in all projects (bids, Business and R&D projects) for both the Specific and the Generic Applications, within budget and schedule
  • Ensure the definition of the compliance of all project activities (including RAMS ones) and relevant documentation to company processes and guidelines for the Safety, V&V and Testing
  • Ensure the demonstration, for RAMS, of the fulfillment of customer requirements and of applicable standards and provide relevant evidences to customers, certification bodies and safety authorities
  • Ensure the definition of the set of activities needed to fulfil all Safety, V&V and testing activities targets to properly execute them and to satisfy the relevant requirements
  • Ensure the achievement of relevant needed approvals and certifications in all projects
  • Ensure to properly represent Hitachi Rail on RAMS matters in front of subcontractors, partners, customers, certification bodies and safety authorities
  • Perform Safety Analysis and produce Safety Deliverables (Safety Plans, Safety Cases, Hazard Log) for IXL and/or RBC subsystems for the projects
  • Define the plan and the strategy for the IXL and/or RBC safety activities for the project
  • Coordinate with the Project RAMS Manager and with the other IXL/RBC WPLs
  • Plan and monitor the progress of execution of all the RAMS tasks applicable to the Project
  • Implement the process of V&V Governance to ensure  that the V&V is performed in compliance to CENELEC standards, to the national railway rules, to the Hitachi Rail standards, project requirements and to the V&V Plan delivered for the project
  • Ensure validation of all the IXL and/or RBC safety requirements
  • Alert the project team of any residual risks that could affect safety
  • Express the final judgment regarding the acceptance from a safety .

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • At least 1 years of V&V or RAMS experience
  • Availability to short travels
  • Proficiency in application of RAMS or V&V processes in compliance to EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129.

Education/Qualifications

Engineering Degree or equivalent technical background.


 

Languages
 

Fluent Knowledge of English (written & spoken).
