System Architect (PDA) (Ref.No. R1002248)

You will enjoy having this responsibility:

Ensure that the solution and architectural design satisfies customer technical and program requirements (including budget and schedule); is implemented in line with product policy, legislation, appropriate Technical Regulatory framework, and design obligations and that technical risks are identified and managed.

This System Architect (Project Design Authority) member of the Engineering team, reports functionally to the Engineering Director and operationally to the Project Manager.

He/she interfaces with Technical Directorate from the Business Line.

It also involves the following tasks:
  • Oversee the conduct and approve the outcome of trade studies to evaluate design alternatives in order to provide advice to both the customer and internal technical teams.
  • Coach and mentor architectural and technical teams.
  • Lead collaborative discussion between internal teams, vendors and customers to clarify and define system requirements.
  • Consult with customers and their representatives in order to appropriately influence system architecture and design.
  • Ensure that the proposed architecture and design will meet the customer's requirements
  • Approve the system architecture, and provide leadership and guidance to the architecture team
  • Through broad consultation, produce documentation in support of the project, to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Review and evaluate Hitachi Rail Ground Transportation and third party documentation and products.
  • Liaise with customers on technical, architectural and procedural issues as required.
  • Other duties as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Ensuring the implementation of multi-project synergies in order to optimize cost of technical solutions.
  • Developing and implementing policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the Program, in conjunction with the Systems Engineering Manager.
You have:

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering or related discipline (essential)
  • Higher degree qualifications are desirable.
  • AWS Certification, CISCO Certification or others are highly desirable
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a Senior Engineering role
  • Experience on architecting the complex solution, including hardware and software,
  • Experience on designing the IT infrastructure, large scale network, virtualization and containerization,
  • Experience on software architecture such as N-Tiers Architecture, SOA or micro-services,
  • Experience working on Communication System, SCADA system or Fare Gate Collection for Transportation projects,
  • Knowledge on Public Announcement system, Passenger Information system, Tetra Radio shall be advantage,
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in managing multiple small projects simultaneously
  • Strong oral and written communications & liaison skills.
  • Membership of relevant professional organisation, e.g. INCOSE, Institution of Engineers Singapore, etc.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
  • Experience on Data Analytic and Machine learning is advantage,
  • Experience in a project management or a systems delivery management role.
  • Experience working within a Systems Engineering lifecycle
