Business Information:

The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2300 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Mission Statement:

The primary responsibility of the Configurator & Webshop Manager is to serve as the main point of contact for factories regarding inquiries and requests related to configurators and tools. This role requires close collaboration with HUB sales operations to achieve defined operational and strategic targets, ensuring the seamless integration of configurators into the HE sales framework.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You will be initial contact for factories, handling any demands or needs related to configurators and web shops.

  • Working closely with regional and global sales operations to align and achieve common targets and strategies.

  • Leading the deployment of regional configuration and web shop projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

  • Overseeing the development and implementation (SIT, UAT) of new functionalities that improve user experience and sales potential.

  • Providing training and support to factory and sales teams on configurator and web shop utilization.

  • Managing cross-functional projects related to configurator and web shop enhancements.

  • Facilitating communication between businesses and IT, resolving conflicts and gaining commitment.

  • Determining which requirements are covered by standard functionalities and identify areas for enhancements.

  • Analyzing data from configurator and web shop usage to inform decision-making and improve tool effectiveness.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field like Business, IT, Engineering.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role related to configurator management or e-commerce and experience working within a multinational company and managing cross-regional projects is highly desirable

  • Strong background in sales and marketing with advanced knowledge of configuration strategies across various business archetypes.

  • Expertise in configuration and master data management. Demonstrating excellence in project management.

  • Strong communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration. Analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making.

  • Abilities for navigating intricate data structures, robust problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail. Conflict resolution skills and commitment-building abilities.

  • Knowledge in configurators, web shops, and user experience principles. Establishing proficiency in

  • Experience and knowledge in SAP SD, MM, pricing is highly valued.

  • Comprehensive cost modelling and understanding of full cost models (highly advantageous).

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
