The role

As the Internal Communications specialist, you will support employee and executive communication for Hitachi DS. You will work with our communications experts, HR teams and business leaders to shape and tell our talent and business messages, drive engagement and keep employees informed and inspired. In this role you will collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop and execute internal communications campaigns. The ideal candidate is someone who can operationalize and drive our internal communications and ensure we have clear and easy to navigate internal communications and resources. This role reports to the Director of Executive Communications.

What you'll bring

• Oversee the development and execution of a strategic internal communications plan that connects the company and culture, enabling a two-way dialogue with our people.
• Build and organize internal comms systems and processes to keep leadership aligned on communication priorities, partnering with them to craft a cohesive messaging strategy.
• Distill complex topics into compelling messages, build and manage creative campaigns, and design crisp written content.
• Support the Leadership team and key stakeholders.
• Source and manage innovative communication channels, develop creative, employee centric communication campaigns.
• Provide bespoke internal/external communications support to our communications leader and stakeholders.
• Set strategic direction for employee-facing communications, managing the content and distribution channels delivering inspirational story-telling and purposeful communications.
• Create a communications editorial calendar and orchestrate a plan to sequence and align messaging to support key HR and organizational initiatives and delivering a consistent, connected messaging strategy.
• Advance leadership communication strategies and develop infrastructure to keep senior leadership aligned, leaders engaged, and our people inspired and empowered.
• 5+ years' experience in managing complex global internal communication programs in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Proven ability to manage and translate complex business issues into compelling and clear messages.
• Creative and innovative, with strong technical and design skills.
• Strong stakeholder management skills: proven ability to persuade, influence and respond to leaders and stakeholders; you are a confident and fact-based advisor and can balance multiple strategic directions and priorities.
• High-quality copywriting, speech writing, presentation planning and delivery skills.
• Drive communication activities to support transformation, change management and culture initiatives.
• Experience in PR/communications ideally in a technology company.
• Strong executive presence with excellent interpersonal skills: nonverbal and verbal, informing, presenting, engaging, convincing, aligning, and advising senior leaders.
