3rd shift Caliper Supervisor

Production Supervisor

Position Summary:

Hitachi Astemo Americas, Inc. is a Tier 1 supplier of brake systems for automotive and non-automotive applications. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the scheduling and planning for completion of customer orders, quality assurance activities to insure quality standards for production, enforcing safety standards and company policies.  This position coordinates with:  Operations, Customers and Suppliers, Sales, other Engineering personnel, Technicians and Corporate support.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Production scheduling (Level loading of customer demands)
  • Monitoring production measurable(s).  (OEE, CT reduction, DT reduction activities)
  • Understanding of CPK and CP / able to interpret data.
  • Working knowledge of the TS/IATF16949 technical standard.
  • Knowledge of establishing process controls (Poke yokes, Check frequencies, etc.).
  • Performed audits of processes.
  • Experience working with Automotive OEMs (in-person, on phone and via Email).
  • Working knowledge of measurement tools (Calipers, Micrometers and general hand gauges).  
  • Ability to organize data to make recommended action.
  • Formal problem solving experience (5P / 8D or equivalent).
  • Coaching & Counseling experience.

  • 2-5 years’ experience in manufacturing with strong familiarity of automotive supervision & quality standards.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Motivated, self-starter with the ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power point)
