Description

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Production Manager - 2nd Shift for its location in Crystal Springs, MS.  The successful candidate shall demonstrate core competencies in; planning, leadership, critical thinking, and self-motivation. This position will report directly to the Operations Manager. This individual will directly manage 4-6 professionals, and indirectly manage up to 150 hourly employees.

Your Responsibilities:

  • As a Production Manager, you have a high focus on safety, quality, and productivity

  • Manages various production activities in his responsibility (e.g., assembly, material forming/shaping, processing, treating, or packaging, etc.)

  • Direct supervisors to meet overall Company goals.

  • Driving efficient and cost-effective production results to meet order demands, specifications, quality, and planning targets, through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes

  • Identifying deficiencies in the production area, proposing improvement activities, and overseeing the implementation of actions to improve production performance, while collaborating with Continuous Improvement teams to integrate lean manufacturing principles into the production processes

  • Liaising with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, etc. as input to developing production schedules and allocating labor/capital resources.

  • Cooperates with the Maintenance Manager for planning, prioritizing, and managing production line maintenance/downtime to minimize disruptions

  • Sets goals and objectives for team members for the achievement of operational results.

  • Coordinates problem-solving for problems faced during production.

  • Ensure that direct reports, customers, and stakeholders understand and follow policies, practices, and procedures

  • Preparing production budget, overseeing progress, and determining actions to mitigate risk in order to manage operations within budget and resource constraints

Your Background:

  • A bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years minimum experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment.

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • To successfully take on this position, you probably have experience leading employees and in change management

  • Lean manufacturing skills
