We are looking for control and instrumentation (C&I) engineers with preferably 2 years + experience in instrumentation installed on power transformers. This role will be based in Córdoba, Spain where Hitachi Energy has a factory focused on core and shell type power transformers.

 

How you'll make an impact

  • Design electrical circuit diagrams, cabinet drawings, cable lists and routing plans for the cooling and control of our power transformers.

  • Manage the complete process of control and instrumentation of the transformer taking the ownership of the full project and managing the different stakeholders to assure the successful installation and performance of the different devices including the integration and communication between them and customer equipment.

  • Work closely with the end customer, sales, project management and mechanical design department when developing an optimal technical solution based on quality and cost optimization.

  • Be involved in both tender and order transformer designs, conduct design reviews with end customer, and provide technical support to our sales and Project Management department.

  • Audit control cabinet suppliers, prepare test specifications so the functional test of a cabinet can be done at supplier site and assist and develop our strategic suppliers of cabinets.

  • Assist our test technicians during the control cabinet tests performed as a part of Final Acceptance Tests with the end customer.

  • Prepare specifications, technical reports and related documents in accordance with requirements, established formats and general instructions.

  • Support and facilitate technical collaboration in case of critical issues at customer sites

  • Review and analyze a variety of engineering data, Customer Specifications, documents & reports.

  • Consult with other engineering groups to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application and recommend revisions, as appropriate.

  • Participate in the investigation of related technical issues and the establishment of procedures & corrective actions.

  • Choose specific technical accessories compatible with the design and customer requests and prepare cost estimation of the design in several stages (as sold, as designed, as built) taking the ownership of the design to avoid deviations in costs and performance.

 

Your background

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering specialized in control, automation, electronic or electrical engineering.

  • 2+ years of professional experience working with the generation of electric schematics, automaton and PLC programming is preferred.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Knowing Spanish is a must as some internal instructions are in Spanish. It's required a good level of English as well.

  • Sole responsibility for technical solutions, independence and resolution are important qualities, as is a curious mind and a flair for innovation and business.

  • Very solid experience in Eplan software and Autocad software.

  • Capability in a 3D modeling package would be considered as a plus (e.g. Creo software from PTC).

  • Strong attitude for using basic computer applications (e.g. MS-Office).

  • Strong level of self-motivation and structured approach to work
