Construction Manager

Job Description

The Construction Manager coordinates and supervises each stage of the construction works for signaling and telecommunications.

He/She will monitor the schedule of works and delegate tasks to the team to ensure that each phase goes as planned and the project is delivered within budget, time, quality and risk management.

Will also supervise and direct a range of activities to ensure that all suppliers, subcontractors and partners are working together within an agreed schedule, according to contractual requirements and that progress is being made.

Key responsibilities:

• Manages the construction process of the project from design phase to execution and completion, including the contribution to the schedule of work, costings and budget;
• plans the works and monitor the acquisition process of necessary materials and equipment;
• manages the construction site on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labor force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing the logistical requirements of the project and quality control;
• assists in managing and reviewing the progress of subcontractors schedules;
• checks design documents with engineer designers, sub/contractors, supervisor and/or final beneficiary;
• ensures the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting milestones and monitoring progress;
• promotes and maintains health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed;
• ensures that all the works are preformed in accordance with approved manuals and procedures;
• writes reports, maintains regular communication and attend meetings with clients and their representatives to inform them of progress on the project;
• Plans ahead to prevent problems and mitigates the impact of any issue.

Key Requirements:

• Civil work and/or rail construction experience highly preferred
• Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to problem-solve and use your initiative
• Leadership and human resources management skills

Key Qualifications:

• Master degree or Bachelor degree in Engineering
• 5+ years' experience in Construction Management
• Advanced computer literacy - MS Office
• Good knowledge of Construction Management processes and tools
• Good oral and written communication skills in English
