Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Intern – Manufacturing Planner for Summer, 2025. The position is based in Batesburg-Leesville, SC.

Accountabilities:

• Familiarity with production planning software (SAP) is required
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interpret production data and provide actionable insights
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work with complex data and ensure precision in reporting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Develop skills and knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment
• Mentorship: Receive guidance and mentorship from experienced production planning professionals
• Assist Planning manager and team with analysis and other procedural improvements
• Take an active part in the execution of development projects
• Develop and integrate documentation processes to ensure consistency and accuracy
• Provide project status updates as required
• Works under close supervision of the Planning Manager

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Current Junior or Senior at a 4-year university with a graduation date between December, 2025 and December, 2026

• Or enrolled in a master’s program

• Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite
