General Information:

Hitachi Energy is seeking a OIP Quality Team Lead within our North American Power Grid – Transformer (PGTR) organization at the Alamo, TN facility.

  

Your Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the flow of inspections through the quality control lab.
  • Create CMM programs utilizing 3D models to support Incoming Inspection, PPAP, and Engineering requests.
  • Ensure QC non-conformities are logged and processed correctly and in a timely manner to aid further preventative action and follow-up 
  • Ensure that monitoring and measuring devices are inspected and calibrated and appropriate records maintained. 
  • Auditing, monitoring, and determining the quality of manufacturing processes and/or outputs against defined internal and regulatory standards. Reporting and troubleshooting manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods.
  • Maintain quality records, equipment, and inspection facility in a clean, and organized condition, including general housekeeping, working to 5S standards 
  • This role also requires the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal groups (this may be necessary to negotiate changes and influence decisions). 
  • Oversee the sorting of materials with engagement from the quality supervisor or quality assurance team to ensure high-quality products are delivered to the production lines.

Your Background:

  • Manufacturing certificate, quality certification, associate’s degree, or 6+ years of related quality control industry experience (minimum of 4 years in a manufacturing environment). 
  • 2+ years of leadership role experience working in manufacturing, and/or quality control. 
  • Working understanding of the ISO-9001 standards (expertise in related industry standards will also be considered) 
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Control principles, methods, and tools with recent professional experience working in Quality functions in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Proficient in the use and gages and fixture for quality control and assurance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365, including intermediate and advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint. SAP ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) experience will be considered a plus 
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions with knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes, standard work, and process control plans. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written & verbal) in English and organizational skills with strong multi-tasking, decision-making and critical thinking skills. 
  • In-depth knowledge of PC-DMIS programming principles using 3D models.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills, especially with data analysis, are highly preferred
  • Experienced ASQ Certified Quality Inspector / Technician (CQI/CQT). 
  • Experience with Minitab, SharePoint, Power BI, and SAP is desired.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
