If you are looking for your next challenge as a Sales Executive, working in a global, innovative high-tech analytical science business, this is a fantastic opportunity for you.

The main purpose of this role is to achieve targeted direct sales of Hitachi Analytical Science products/equipment across our various application and customer markets. The role will require identifying which UK markets to focus on based on the strengths of a selection from Hitachi's diverse product mix.

The role can be located anywhere in the UK, but ideally near our headquarters which are equipped with a demo centre in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

Key Responsibilities:
This role will perform, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
• Generate sales and achieve agreed financial targets within the territory
•Take responsibility for the sales and customers within the territory
•Travel throughout the territory to call on established and prospective customers
•Demonstrate products to customers when required
•Follow up sales opportunities and ensure quotations are sent promptly
•Identify new business opportunities and take appropriate action
•Create and follow up new enquires promptly and efficiently
•Maintain good customer relationships, providing regular contact and identifying and meeting customer requirements
•Project a professional & competent image of Hitachi & its products at all times
•Engage on major bids, ensuring they are won at best price and terms
•Maintain an accurate and up to date contact database
•Attend shows and exhibitions as necessary
•Liaise with marketing to build targeted brand awareness
•Maintain contact with the Sales Manager, ensuring that they are kept aware of progress, opportunities and developments
•Participate in training and development activities as required
•Occasional travel to our office in Germany

Essential Skills and Experience:
•A degree or equivalent in a science related field (preferred)
•Equivalent experience in a related field will be considered
•A minimum of 2 years' B2B sales experience (preferred)
•Previous experience in scientific instrumentation sales is a plus
•Willingness to travel and be out meeting customers up to 4 days a week
•Strong communication and negotiation skills
•Confident on the phone coupled with good computer skills
•Ability to identify business opportunities for our products
•Marketing knowledge and experience (preferred)
•Completer/finisher with a strong say/do ratio
•Strong business and analytical skills
•Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM tool (preferred)
•Strong English language skills essential

•Willingness to travel within the UK & Ireland
•Excellent communication, networking and influencing skills.
•Creative and innovative approach to developing new ideas or solutions
•The ability to work independently with effective time management skills
•Customer focused and can work on own initiative
•Clean driving license
•Flexible approach to overseas travel (occasional)
