Description

Members of the BRBU system simulation team oversee design of simulation platforms to support the development of electrified brake systems: EMB (Electro-Mechanical-Brakes), EHPB (Electro-Hydraulic Power Brakes) and APB (Automated Parking Brakes). These simulation platforms are used by a variety of stakeholders to (1) flow down system requirements to components (actuator sizing), (2) design controls & safety mechanisms, (3) perform optimization and variations studies, (4) pre-tune or validate SW …

System Simulation engineer Brake-by-wire missions:

  • Research theory to support modelling of mechatronics systems and vehicle dynamics.

  • Develop overall system model architectures.

  • Design sub-system models (actuators, vehicle dynamics, control logic…) and component models (transmission, motors, sensor, ECUs, brake components…)

  • Integrate model actuator and/or system level models.

  • Design and conduct test cases to support model/sample correlation.

  • Design automation tools or GUI to improve efficiency in the usage of models.

  • Promote usage of simulation as a development tool across the engineering organization and provide coaching/training to users.

Key qualifications:

  • Preparing Master of Science or Engineering Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or control systems (R)

  • Good Knowledge practice of MathWorks (MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow/Simscape) for 0D/1D actuator simulation and/or control system design (R)

  • Knowledge theoretical background and understanding of kinematics, electro-magnetic, friction, transmission mechanisms, hydraulics, thermals… (R)

Technical skills:

  • Strong technical mindset (R)
    • Culture & curiosity of automotive products

    • Culture & curiosity of multiple fields of technology (mechanical, electro-magnetic, electrical hardware power/logics), software, testing, safety)

    • Common sense of physics
