Position Overview

Hitachi Energy is currently looking for a Procurement Professional to join their team in Savli, Vadodara, India. This team seeks a skilled and motivated individual.

The ideal candidate must enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment. He or she must be flexible to accommodate business requirements and experience in working with diverse groups and cultures. The ability to multitask & delivers within timelines is essential. The candidate will have excellent communications skills.

Job Description:

  • Overseeing the procurement Process and coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as production, finance, Engineering and operations, to align procurement activities with business needs.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and ensure material availability in line with project requirements.
  • Monitoring and tracking orders to ensure on time delivery of Projects.
  • Implement & maintain processes to evaluate supplier performance data like delivery, quality etc.. to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Manage vendor relationships and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with quality team and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve short comings.
  • Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure optimal capacity procurement and allocation, coordinating the forecast of supply and demand
  • handling import & domestic procurement.
  • Material Planning & tracking based on continuous production plan.
  • Purchase and logistics management of various commodities.
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
  • Conduct a thorough project review to establish delivery schedules / project timelines
  • Conduct daily progress reviews of works and delivery status of materials.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that incoming materials meet quality standards
  • Oversee the billing process for all procured items, ensuring accurate and timely payments
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments to understand their procurement needs

Basic Qualifications (Required skills/ experience)

  • Candidate must have 6-8 years of experience in Procurement at MNC in relevant industry.
  • Knowledge of import and export Material Handling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAP MM.
  • Well versed with MS Office.
  • Strong Follow up and Expedite Materials skills.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering drawing.

Typical Education & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 6-8  years of professional work experience in Procurement.
