Job Description

Provide Linux Administration service in San Francisco Bay Area (Mountain View, San Jose, etc) California.

Scheduled on-site work hours: three days to five days a week from Monday to Friday, eight hours a day.

This will be a contract to permanent hire. Preference is availability of 3 days a week to start.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Linux administration tasks at on-site

1) Set up Linux machines for various projects and operational needs

2) Install OS, Open Source Applications, etc.

3) Maintain user/group administration/password/etc.

4) Data wipe-out

2. Client computer related support to customers, at on-site

1) Maintain, support and troubleshoot on client computers.

3. Network administration tasks at on-site.

1) Troubleshooting on WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi environment.

4. H/W and S/W support to customer by contacting vendor/s support.

1) Coordination with H/W and S/W vendor and perform IT related support to customers.

5. Prepare and provide technical services for customers.

1) Act for the preventative measures, prepare and provide necessary information to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.

6. Work independently and collaborate with other teams and team members to develop Linux infrastructure.

7. Perform other work related duties as assigned.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Reporting to customers and/or SI manager

1) Daily Time-in/out, 2) Field Service Log, 3) for any other administration

Education, Experience, and Knowledge Required:

BS or BA in Computer Sciences or equivalent experience

3+ years of experience as Linux Administrator

Strong problem solving and communication skills

Proficient knowledge of:

Requirement:

a) Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages

Preferable:

a) Cisco router; b) Firewall/VPN (Juniper Networks, etc.); c) WiFi (Cisco Meraki, etc.); d) Cisco Switch; e) Windows OS (Client:7/8/8.1, Server 2008/2012); f) Endpoint Protection; g) Diagnose and troubleshooting on network and client computers; h) VMware and Hyper-V;

b) Apple MacBook, Mac OS X, iOS (iPhone, iPad)

c) Familiar/Comfortable with Japanese corporate culture

d) Japanese language skill (verbal and written)

Qualifications
