Our recent expansion has afforded us a unique opportunity to look for a strategic, dynamic, and forward-thinking Accounting Assistant looking to “shift gears” and join the team in our Monroe, GA facility. As a valued member of the Financial & Accounting Team, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for daily transactions of Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, backup for Account Payables, and other accounting related task  


Chief Duties and/or Responsibilities: 

  1. Serve as the backup to Payroll as needed.
  2. Maintain Payroll deductions and adjustments tracking logs related to employee deductions for such items as gym membership, united way, and benefit enrollments.
  3. Accommodate Payroll window with various Employees payroll needs.
  4. Perform heavy data entry into Aurora ERP System.
  5. Receive and open incoming mail for Accounts Payable.
  6. Inputs invoices for expense items.  Responsible to match invoice, purchase order, and receipt of items to insure payment for only what has been ordered and received in house.
  7. Code invoices with account number and apply proper tax if necessary.
  8. Prepare and complete check runs.
  9. Maintain and Balance unvouchered receipt report.
  10. Research all invoice problems and resolve in timely manner.
  11. Works with vendors and internal departments as necessary to verify data on prices, receipts, etc.
  12. Communicate with vendors or Hitachi managers/employees to resolve discrepancies or vendor questions.
  13. Maintains orderly files of all paperwork (invoices and receivers, accounts payable checks, and monthly printed reports).
  14. Insures that all paperwork is handled in an efficient and organized manner.
  15. Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff required.
  16. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information required especially payroll.
  17. Responsible for complying with all company policies, procedures, standards through compliance, maintaining a safe workplace and following all regulations and requirements related to safety and environmental compliance.
  18. Perform related task as needed


Qualified Applicants will possess the following:  


  • High School diploma minimum requirement.  Two-year degree in Accounting preferred 

  • Friendly personality to interact with Employees with Payroll issues/needs.

  • Computer and typing proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Ability to spend major portion of schedule sitting, using hands to keyboard, writing and handling files and documents.

  • Must possess clear and distinct speaking voice and hearing clear enough for understanding.

  • Must be able to move about facility, standing to file and some stair climbing may be required

  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception are required

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs

  • 7am – 4pm shift 


Working Conditions:

Pleasant office environment, primarily; moderately loud manufacturing environment, secondary.


Physical Requirements: 

No physical exertion required. Required to sit for long periods of time using handst to key board coordination and handling files and documents.  Moving around facility, standing to file and some stair climbing may be required.  Lifting limited to no more than 30 lbs.
