Title: Senior IT Accountant

The Senior IT Accountant will be responsible for the accounting function in Hitachi America’s IT divisions, as well as liaising with IT, Corporate Accounting/CFA and Procurement staff from other divisions. He/She will also maintain the IT General Ledgers in accordance with IFRS Standards, producing Financial Reports as required and operating subsidiary systems, e.g. Order-to-bill, SAP Project Systems, ServiceNow Ticketing systems.


Responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining the General Ledger in accordance with IFRS & HAL policy
    1. Preparing & Posting journals for accruals and reclassifications, prepayments & amortization etc.
    2. Running the monthly, quarterly & annual IT close processes  (including variance analyses, and P&L Reports)
  2. Generate Monthly P&L Forecasts from existing ongoing activities as well as open sales & purchase orders.
  3. Liaise with Accounts Payable specialist to ensure expenses are completely & accurately recorded.
  4. Operate Order-to-Bill process to ensure all customer activity is properly approved, billed and recorded
  5. Generate Statutory, Tax, Insurance and ad hoc reports as required
  6. Carry out Annual Fixed Assets verification



  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business
  • 5 years of hands-on Accounting experience
  • In-depth knowledge of and prior experience using SAP: FI/CO, PS/SD & MM
  • Expert knowledge of and prior experience using Excel
  • Understanding of Workflow systems, e.g. SAP, SN & SFDC
  • Understanding/exposure to working in a shared services model
  • Understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure, Customer Support & Business Systems Principles
  • Ability to work across teams, groups and functions and to build strong relationships
  • Strong customer focus
  • Initiative & Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail
