Job Description
 

POSITION TITLE:                        Quality Assurance Technician

 

DEPARTMENT NAME:              Quality Assurance Department, HTA-SED 

 

REPORTING TO TITLE:             Director of Product Support & Quality

 
 
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
 

Operate a Zeiss coordinate measuring machine (CMM) using Calypso software.  Perform manual, visual, and microscope inspection of incoming products and materials. Document inspection findings.  Perform analysis of returned parts and communicate findings to other functional areas. Work within a multi-cultural and cross-functional team environment to provide parts inspection support and supplier feedback.

 
Primary Responsibilities
 
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing materials, and generate inspection reports.
  • Operate a Zeiss CMM, evaluate results, and disposition parts accordingly.
  • Provide supplier feedback on parts quality.
  • Inspect and analyze returned materials, and work closely with the Returned Material Authorization (RMA) team to determine the status and disposition of materials.
  • Prepare data for supplier and customer audits as well as for internal purposes. 
  • Publish reports using Word, Excel, PowerPoint; incorporating photos and other graphical files.
  • Develop, improve, and maintain work procedures.   
  • Support the ISO-9001 based Quality Management System as needed.
  • Perform supplier audits and publish audit results as requested.  

Qualifications

 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Associate Degree in an engineering discipline, e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Electronics, and Chemical, etc. (OR)
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Technician (CQT) (preferred)
 
 
 
 
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
 
  • 2+ years in Quality Assurance field. 
  • 1+ years in manufacturing (preferred).  
  • 1+ years in semiconductor industry (preferred). 
 
 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

 
  • CMM operation experience with knowledge of Calypso software operations. 
  • Hands on knowledge in using common metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, electrical meters, etc.
  • Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Possesses a basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • First-year college-level math skills in Algebra and Trigonometry.
  • Proficiency in general computer skills and Microsoft Office applications such as Words, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Able to read engineering drawings.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Able to produce clear and meaningful reports and presentations.
  • Able to communicate effectively with others.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally (10-15%).
  • Able to work for extended periods wearing cleanroom garments including hood, face mask, cleanroom suit, safety glasses, etc.
  • Able to safely lift and handle 40 lbs.
  • Able to climb ladders safely.
  • A team player, able to work with people in a diverse culture.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Creo or AutoCAD (preferred)
