Purpose of Position
Hitachi Consulting Canada is currently looking for a Regional Sales Director who will primarily manage our Western Canada business and sales of company’s services. The ideal person will be based in the Calgary, Vancouver, or Toronto markets. The Regional Sales Director will ensure achievement of strategic revenue objectives for assigned market or industry segment. Their primary role is generating, qualifying, and closing new business for the company for diverse company Digital Solutions offerings. In addition will have access to a vast portfolio of other solution offerings including (but not limited to) Business Management Consulting and Outsource Services as well as Microsoft, Oracle and SAP Platform technologies.


The ideal candidates will establish effective communications with appropriate executives, managers and clients to understand their needs and deliver effective proposals. Equally important, the RSD will team with subject matter personnel to effectively execute the sales cycle. The RSD actively participates in a Go-To-Market team and helps the team achieve its goals. This position typically requires 8 years of service sales experience with 5 or more years of field sales experience.  This role will report to the Vice President and Go To Market Leader of Sales at Hitachi Consulting Canada.


Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience selling direct to client

In addition, the candidate must also have:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the consulting, professional services, or software industry, ideally with one of the big 5 consulting firms
  • Minimum of 2 years leading a go to market (GTM) strategies, with established contacts within the Energy Sector, Power/Hydro, Large Industry: Mining, Natural Resources, Public Sector: Provincial Government
Desired Skills: 
  • Sales experience within suggested field(s)
  • Proven track record in achieving annual goals and working team environment
  • Excellent business development skills in business-to-business technology sales with the ability to effectively perform and direct business development tasks in order to maximize revenues and profits. In-depth knowledge of sales principles and practices.
  • Existing achievement of $3-5 million in annual consulting project sales with net-new logos and account expansion
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across a consulting organization with other industry and solution Directors/VPs, as well as the Service Delivery personnel.
  • Ability to build vision, defines requirements, design practical solutions, develop supporting business cases and implement solutions for clients.
  • Possesses the qualities and characteristics that support development of junior team members to grow a practice.
  • Proven track record of multi-tasking business development, client side delivery, and people management skills.
  • High professional and personal integrity with very high ethical standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 45% - Helps coordinate, execute and lead the sales pursuit process. In conjunction with the Sales and Delivery team, develops new business from new customers, and expand business with existing client relationships as required. Manage sales strategies/plans to keep it consistent with the company’s long-range strategic objectives.
  • 45% - Build sales pipeline by developing, nurturing, and maintain client, partner sales force and new business relationships.
  • 10% - Performs necessary sales administration to make sure all parties are kept up-to-date on sales activities. Include participating in weekly and periodic Go-To-Market team meetings, and keeping Microsoft CRM (Insight) and other sales reporting tools up-to-date.
Travel :
  • Regular and expeditious travel throughout Western Canada to meet client needs and timetables.  Frequent Western Canada wide and occasional US and international travel.
    Available to be stationed at and work from an out-of-town client site for an extended period of time.
