Summary

Hitachi Social Innovation Business is searching for an experienced and passionate communications professional to drive dynamic executive thought leadership strategies, content creation and execution for our C-level executives. This position will play a key role building impactful communications programs to engage internal and external stakeholders.  The strategic role is responsible for building and refining messaging and presentations for our CEO, as well as other executives, helping them amplify their thought leadership and storytelling through a variety of communications channels. The role will also partner with communications stakeholders throughout Hitachi group companies company to align global messages to employee audiences.  

 

This individual must be able to quickly capture the voice of the executives while having the ability and confidence to make proactive recommendations; synthesize complex information on diverse subject matter; and integrate data gathered from multiple sources into clear, concise and inspiring communications. With a particular emphasis on PowerPoint presentations, this person must be able to create visually appealing content that communicates complex strategies and concepts.  Boundless enthusiasm, can-do attitude and a passion for learning are essential for this position. She or he must also work independently, with minimal input from leadership, to determine appropriate communications priorities and identify the right channels and audiences for each message. The successful candidate will balance proactive guidance and strategy with flawless execution to become a trusted communications advisor to the leadership team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective external communications strategies and content for our C-level executives.
  • Capture the voice and tone of our executives across all forms of communications.
  • Distill complex information into engaging content for presentations and messages to a variety of global audiences.
  • Develop compelling executive content that includes keynotes, external events, presentations for all employees, and board level and leadership presentations.
  • Create messaging, talking points, and briefing documents on a variety of subjects based on the needs of our executive team.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with stakeholders across multiple functions to identify and drive the right communications opportunities for executives.
  • Collaborate across multiple functions to develop compelling executive storylines and content for major internal communications opportunities such as town halls, sales kickoff events and enterprise-wide messages. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism or communications preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years communications experience and at least 3 years of experience supporting communications for senior technology executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to create high-quality work with limited guidance from executives, delivering results calmly and with good judgment in a fast-paced, high-stress, heavily matrixed environment
  • Experience working in a global company, with insight and sensitivity to cultural influences
  • Exceptional interpersonal, writing, editing and verbal communication skills
  • Strong executive influence and leadership presence
  • Self-starter, detail-oriented, proactive, ability to work both independently and in teams     
  • Strategic and creative thinker with strong attention to details
  • Utmost adherence to confidentiality and business ethics; demonstrates outstanding judgment and discretion
  • Solid stakeholder management skills
  • Strong business acumen, including the ability to understand, and relay complex information to various stakeholders
  • Ability to build trust and interact with executives with confidence, proactively driving communications outcomes and providing insightful counsel
  • Ability to adapt to the unique tone and style of the executive to deliver credible, authentic communications
  • Proven track record in storytelling
  • Strong PowerPoint presentation skills, including ability to illustrate concepts visually
  • Ability to travel domestic and internationally at least 25% of the time.
