The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a trade qualified HD Fitter / Mobile Plant Mechanic to join our team at Murrin Murrin as a Site Supervisor. Working a 5/2, 4/3 roster, this permanent role will allow you to access OEM training while you build a long term career in a global company.

As the Supervisor you will report directly to the Site Maintenance Superintendent and work closely with the extended Glencore team to ensure the smooth running of the Hitachi Maintenance Team. You must be able to work as part of a team and drive the reliability and availability of the mobile fleet while keeping an impeccable safety record. You will also:

  • Plan and coordinate all weekly and daily mobile maintenance activities safely and efficiently by prioritising resources, machinery and people
  • Manage costs and improve the efficiency of the project where possible
  • Solve daily and weekly technical and resource problems
  • Liaise with the client and contractors ensuring favourable outcomes
  • Hit targets and contractual obligations
  • Ensure full statutory and safety compliance of all maintenance activities

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant Diesel or Mobile Plant Mechanic trade qualifications
  • Previous experience in a Supervisory Role
  • Experience with AMT (Asset Management System)
  • Mentoring and coaching / training and development of staff
  • Working knowledge of planning and scheduling with the ability to deliver in tight time frames
  • Demonstrated background experience with Hitachi mobile equipment will be highly regarded
  • Good communication and customer service skills and the ability to build long term relationships
  • Safety focus and abide by site safety processes
