Your new role

 

In this exciting new role you will support the Service and Maintenance division across a number of geographical locations in Scotland and the South of England. As a HR Advisor with Hitachi Rail you’ll be the first point of contact for all employee relations issues within your business areas and support the HR Business Partner in providing a full generalist HR service. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your capabilities by being involved in a variety of interesting HR projects!

 

 

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:

  • Provide timely, accurate advice on all employee relations matters and attend employee meetings as appropriate. Including:
    • Discipline
    • Grievance
    • Absence 
    • Performance
    • Probation management
    • Restructures
    • Family friendly activities – maternity, paternity etc
  • Maintain up-to-date records of activity on all employee relations matters within own client group.
  • Provide Head of HR and HR Business Partner with reports and dashboards, as needed.
  • Provide policy advice to client group, encouraging self-service approach.
  • Support HR Business Partner, as required, with:
    • Pay and reward activities, including pay benchmarking and inputting into cyclical activities, such as salary review and bonus
    • Talent and succession planning
    • Local employee engagement and retention activities, including employee forums and Union Joint Negotiation Committees, where these exist
    • Organisation structure design
    • Resource planning
    • Recruitment approvals and queries
    • Talent and succession planning
    • Project work

 About you

  • An independent thinker who is able to manage their workload effectively
  • Comfortable working in a very dynamic environment
  • Resilient
  • Must demonstrate strong ER experience
  • Proffered Industrial Relations experience – not essential
  • Good understanding of data management
  • Ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Evidence of ‘getting thigs over the line’ or ‘just getting it done’.
  • Some travel will be required

 

 

   

Qualifications

  • CIPD or equivalent qualification
  • Maths and English GCSE at grade C or above, or equivalent
