Hitachi HighTech America, Inc. (HTA) is seeking a creative Human Resources Programs Manager with the ability to balance a variety of assignments simultaneously. 

This is an individual contributor role; both hands-on and strategic and provides project leadership and support for Human Resources initiatives.  The role directly supports the Vice President, and required skills critical to success include executing projects, managing change, driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.

This role requires the ability to understand key elements of the HR function to include knowledge of human resources within the employee lifecycle including: recruitment, retention, performance management, compensation, administration, workers compensation, employee relations, and recognition initiatives.  


The successful candidate will have an understanding of business acumen and human resources practices in support of the overall business operations and results. 


Knowledge of compliance audits, and learning and development is preferred.

This role is also responsible for identifying and driving HR process improvement including creating clear and detailed documentation which includes defining roles and responsibilities and accountability.

Experience in an international business environment is preferred.


  • Project Management: Drives projects, tracks progress against key initiatives and eliminates roadblocks as needed.  Leads the HR project roadmap holding regular status update meetings.
  • Lead the company Learning and Development initiatives. Evaluate and implement initiatives based upon organizational needs. Support Parent Company, Hitachi High-Technologies, Inc. (HHT) training programs.  Comfortable with facilitating delivery of training as required. 
  • Responsible to lead and respond to various audits to include Hitachi High Technologies America (HTA), Hitachi High-Technologies, Inc. (HHT), ISO, J-Sox, OFCCP, IRS, State, Federal, etc. to ensure compliance.
  • As needed, create, inform, educate, and disseminate information on all HR-related programs, policies, and procedures.  Mediums may include developing presentations, executive proposals, communications, etc.
  •  Support HTA committees; WAY, WiH, etc.
  • Communicates and ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations related to employment and with company policies and procedures, making recommendations for change as required.
  • May become involved in International Human Resources initiatives and take on HR Generalist assignments, projects and responsibilities as required.



• Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration or related field required. PHR/SPHR certification a plus but not required.


• Demonstrated knowledge in leading HR Programs and HR Generalist skills.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience.
• Solid understanding of local, state and federal employment law.

  • Occasional overnight travel. 


    • Project Management - experience leading a broad spectrum of projects required.
    • HR related compliance audit knowledge/experience required.
    • Learning and development - knowledge of assessing organization training needs, creating training plans, and sourcing vendors preferred.
    • International HR experience working in an international organization preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven critical thinking and project management skills with an attention to detail and strong time-management.
    • Supports day-to-day reporting needs including training, ad hoc reporting, etc.
    • Experience and general understanding of International HR fundamentals.
    • Proficiency using MS Windows applications (i.e., Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
    • Preferred knowledge and experience with systems and technology that support HR Shared services (e.g. ADP Workforce Now, Taleo, SharePoint, Workday).
    • Previous experience working in the development and implementation of HR programs and processes and HR Generalist skills.
    • Successful and professional ability to influence and educate employees at all organizational levels.
    • Ability to handle ambiguity in a fast paced environment with multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities.
    • Self-motivator with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to use good judgement in decision-making, and exercise creativity and flexibility in problem identification and resolution.
    • History of demonstrating excellent organizational, planning, written, and oral communication. Writing and presenting ideas to executive management.
    • Drives process improvement initiatives within the HR organization including facilitating the creation of process flows and detailed documents that define process steps and roles and responsibilities.
