Job description
In light of our growth, we are seeking suitably qualified Senior Signalling Design Engineers with experience in Wayside Signalling design on major Railway networks to join our team.
There are a few Permanent Full Time opportunities based in Brisbane.

About the role
Accountabilities will include but not limited to the following:
  • Detailed design and verification of various signalling subsystems
  • Approval of signalling subsystems for major infrastructure projects.
  • Guarantee the delivery of complex & medium Functional designs (HW, SW, functional and configuration design & production check).
  • Ensuring/ advising appropriate responsible persons equipment used in designs are appropriate for use on the type of Railway network and compliant to local legislation and regulation.
  • Responsible for producing functional design documentation including system requirements and architecture, interface control, scheme plans, control tables, block design, and analyses as appropriate.
  • Ensuring design compliance through requirement traceability.
  • Ensuring the HW and Functional documents produced are issued and controlled in accordance with company processes.
  • Participating in or leading reviews to detect design errors, process and tool inefficiencies ,and putting in place corrective and improvement actions.
  • Guarantee the functional analysis of V&V feedback and site tests.
  • Ensure correct interpretation and compliance to Rules and Operating Procedures and Operational Requirements of client operators and capable of producing final sign-off of signalling subsystem design.
  • Interfacing with all stake holders as needed for integration of designs related to signalling subsystems.
  • Ensuring signalling subsystems designs are delivered to user requirements, their related and assurance systems and operating methodologies.
  • Ensure correct interpretation and compliance to Rules and Operating Procedures and Operational Requirements of client operators and capable of producing final sign-off of signalling subsystem design.
  • Ensuring support in the preparation of related documentation and testing plan to function test complex signalling installations using but not limited to signalling related technologies and techniques.
  • Identifying and raising any potential concerns that could impact Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) to those responsible for managing the risks associated with them.
  • Write or support the issue of detailed work instructions related to installation of signalling subsystems.
Qualification:
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical, Mechatronic, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. or
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree with recognizable prior knowledge gained through experience of not less than 5 years or through higher studies/ research in Railway Signalling systems in related area. or
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline followed by recognizable prior knowledge gained through experience of not less than 10 years.
  • Those who are qualified or has qualifications for eligibility as corporate member of Engineers Australia will be preferred.
Skills & Experience:
  • 5 up to 10 years of professional experience in Signaling design.
  • Deep knowledge of signalling principles of one or more major Railway network operators.
  • Deep knowledge of fundamentals of Railway signalling principles in general and experience of their application on major Railway networks.
  • Deep knowledge of the major equipment and subsystems used in signalling design and the applicable technical limitation of their use.
  • Ensure deep knowledge of industry standards (e.g. CENELEC, AREMA, IEEE, IPC, etc.) and company standard solutions.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with competencies approved for providing services to major Railway Network operators in related areas.
