The Role

The Infrastructure Application Stack Delivery Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment, and support of Hitachi application delivery throughout the enterprise. This position requires an individual with strong Networking - IT Application knowledge; in supporting a very resilient infrastructure. This includes the requirement of hands-on expertise in the latest Big IP F5 Traffic Managers. Strong experience in Linux - TCP troubleshooting is preferred. Thorough understanding of application layer protocols is highly desired.

Job Functions:
  • Determine the most appropriate method to add new projects, applications, or traffic to the environment
  • Analysis of the environment
  • Customer-specific configuration and enhancements
  • Industry best practice deployment
  • Identify opportunities to automate redundant operational tasks and improve the infrastructure support efficiencies through data analysis
  • Performance tune and ensure high availability of on premise and cloud infrastructure
  • Design, implement, secure, and maintain systems in test, development, and production environments
  • Identify and analyze the issues that hamper system performance, and work in close coordination with development teams and recommend solutions for resolution
  • Enhance patch management processes across entire stack and perform vulnerability remediation

F5 Networks Experience:
  • Big IP architecture and topology
  • F5 Local Traffic Manager (LTM)
  • F5 Global Traffic Manager (GTM)
  • F5 iRules
  • Version 12.x and above

Additional experience:
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Analysis
  • Capable of performing and assisting others with structured troubleshooting
  • Experience using tools for analyzing layer 7 protocols
  • Experience performing TCP/IP analysis through packet captures
  • Ethernet troubleshooting at the switch and interface level
  • Ability to analyze DNS resolution
  • Excellent communication and verbal skills as well as business acumen
  • Ability to work independently and within a global team

Education:
  • Minimum of a B.S. in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and five (5) years of relevant experience or combination of education, experience and training
