Hitachi Rail STS is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior EM Compatibility Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of engineering tasks from technical to administrative and strategic. The position is based in Abu Dhabi.

Mission
EMC Lead engineer will be the technical interface with customer for EMC, namely referred to system assurance (RAMS aspects), and local coordination, progress monitoring and reporting.
EMC lead engineer will work in strict coordination with EMC team based in Italy / France, who will provide a contribution specifically referred to guide lines and methodologies, support for management and control plans, cable segregations, EMC analysis, specific issues ( such as interface between rolling stock and train detection system), EMC dossiers and subsystems interface / coordination, participation to survey, inspections and tests on site (tools will be provided and managed by EMC FRA).

Accountabilities

  • Check the identification, management and fulfillment to the EMI/EMC (SystemandSignalling) Functional Requirements for the entire lifecycle of the project (Design and Testing)
  • Check the identification, management and resolution of the significant EMI/EMC interfaces among the subsystems
  • Implement the continuous updating of the EMI/EMC design common practices in accordance to international standards
  • Check compliance of laboratory and site tests with EMI/EMC design requirements
  • Contribute to EMI/EMC problem solving by supervising technical analysis and measurements
  • Check correct implementation of EMI/EMC requirements in subsystems design
  • Check correct implementation of EMI/EMC requirements in Signalling system design
  • Provide a valid and effective technological Competence in EMI/EMC Subsystems Analysis
In more detail for this specific project,Etihad Rail Stage 2, this local resource will cover most of EMC activities, which will include:
  • EMC control and management plans
  • installation / segregation plans
  • surveys and inspections on site
  • supervision, coordination, interface / meetings with the customer
  • subsystems EMC coordination
  • earthing and bonding activities
  • EMC analysis
  • interfaces management
  • risk and hazard analysis
  • interface with RAMS
  • EMC tests on site: test plans and tests / inspections reports
  • EMC proof of compliance
  • EMC requirements management.


Job requirements
Required Skills/Knowledge
  • At least 10 years of experience in railway environment / projects
  • Expert in EMI / EMC system integration and validation
  • Expert in Railway Operations and Signalling principles
  • Knowledge in System requirements definition
  • Knowledge of Telecommunication principles
  • Knowledge in budgeting and programme/planning monitoring
  • Expert in conventional signalling control designs

Desired Skills/Knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, and manage tasking of cross-functional teams of varying skills/experience
  • Prior experience collaborating with a diverse, cross-functional team across multiple geographic locations

Education
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering Bachelor's Degree

Languages
  • English-Proficiency
