Summary:

Hitachi America, Ltd. (www.hitachi-america.us) is looking for a new Senior Tax Manager to join the Tax Department located in Santa Clara, CA. The Senior Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing the tax compliance function of the tax department, including, but not limited to, reviewing all the federal, state and local corporate tax workpapers and returns, interfacing with tax authorities, researching issues, and managing tax projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage two tax managers, one senior tax accountant directly, and one senior tax accountant indirectly.
  • Review consolidated and single corporate entities’ federal, combined states, and separate state and local income tax workpapers and returns, quarterly tax estimates, and return extensions.      
  • Review quarterly tax provisions and annual true-ups.
  • Represent corporations in tax audits.
  • Provide training and guidance to personnel on tax matters.
  • Research and provide recommendation on tax issues.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting and/or MS in Taxation preferred.
  • 10+ years of corporate tax experience is required (Big 4 and multinational corporation strongly preferred).
  • Experience using Thomson Reuters Onesource corporate tax software.
  • Up to date on the tax law changes per the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and enhance teamwork environment.
