Job description
Hitachi Rail STS USA is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Associate Quality Assurance Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Batesburg, SC.

Mission:
Quality assurance documentation preparation and availability. Implementation of quality assurance activities for the assigned quality audits.
Accountabilities:
  • Authorize the use, release or acceptance of nonconforming materials from suppliers rejected on the line
  • Issue rejections (QN's) to suppliers and track corrective actions from line rejections or incoming inspection
  • Perform source inspections (or FAT's on product being shipped to the manufacturing facility (houses, cases, etc.)
  • Support the supplier evaluation performance process
  • Facilitate the organization of customer FAIs at a supplier
  • Interface technically with suppliers providing FAI materials for product destined for the manufacturing facility and support of the FAI process
  • Review FAI activities performed by first tier suppliers such as Elesienna
  • Monitor material in blocked stock assigned as vendor issues
  • Maintain ASTA tooling database and review tooling during periodic audits
  • Interface with product improvement and maintenance when drawing / design issues are encountered by the supplier
  • Audit suppliers when assigned
Required Skills/ Knowledge:
  • 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in reading drawings and / or schematics
  • Experience in a machine or electronics shop environment in a technical aspect
  • Ability to use common measuring equipment in the above environment
  • Experience in using suite of MS office tools
  • Good communication skills in relaying technical information via verbal or written communication
  • Good problem solving skills

  • Associate Degree
